The HETAS Council has been undertaking a review process and has looked at the objectives for the organisation. The following purpose and objectives have been proposed and are under discussion:-
1. Promote and monitor improvement in safe installation and use of fuels, appliances, installations, post installation maintenance and sweeping
2. Encourage continual improvement of products and promote high standards of quality, design, safety and workmanship in the industry.
3. Lead the industry in updating and maintaining uniform standards of Education and Training at all levels to ensure safe and efficient installation and utilisation of solid fuels, systems and appliances
4. Working with SFA, promote the safe and efficient use of all solid fuels and equipment including mineral fuels and wood biomass, obtaining maximum publicity for the industry through public relations and marketing activities; and by giving advice and guidance.
5. Influence legislation, regulations and policies, at national & international levels, that affect the solid fuel industry in general, and across all solid fuels.
From time to time we also become involved in other relevant and beneficial projects where it supports our purpose or objectives or for the benefit of our stakeholders.
