In the 21st Century attitudes to solid fuel have changed dramatically. A new generation of efficient and automated pellet and woodchip biomass appliances are entering the market, and with the developing Renewable Heat Incentive and the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) HETAS has developed new training courses in line with National Occupational Standards and there’s never been a better time to place yourself at the forefront of renewable, sustainable heat appliance installation.
With the growing market for solid fuel burning appliances many existing gas and electrical engineers are broadening their skill set and career options by taking dry stove (H003) and wet (H004) appliance training courses and then going on to become HETAS Registered Installers.
Our Biomass course (H005) covers system design and installation of larger, space and water-heating chip or pellet fired appliances. There’s even direct entry (H005DE) methods so you can use your existing skills and experience to fulfill the pre-course requirements and go straight in to learn about modern biomass appliance installation. We work with chimney manufacturers to deliver a comprehensive course on internal system chimney installation (H006), setting you up to design and install entire solid fuel heating solutions.
HETAS work closely with 19 Approved Training Centres across the UK, each one delivering up-to-date, industry recognised training. Please use the link below to find your nearest Approved Training Centre, and contact them directly for course details, dates and prices.
