The warmer weather has been interrupted with a few wet spells down south, but we’re seeing more glimpses of the Summer as each day passes. Everyone has been kept busy in the office and we’ve had an excellent month across the business. Following on from last month, we’ve compiled an article that shows what our role is with you – our registrants.
Last month we shared a comprehensive article on how HETAS interacts with a number of government bodies and technical committees, plus how we are always held accountable and to the highest standards. Focusing on our registrants this month, we thought it would be equally as important to let you know not only what we do – but why we do it.
The team go above and beyond to represent and support our industry. There’s a range of ways we do this, such as these newsletter, regular bulletins, and guidance notes – and also through our consumer-focused efforts like website sessions and PR. This advice and guidance always comes from a collective drive for a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment where particulate emissions are lowered and our industry is able to keep showing such impressive results and innovation.
We also have a lot planned for the short-term future, including a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system – providing more streamlined, secure processes than ever before – and a full review of our training materials and assessments to keep them as fresh as possible. Take a look at the full article to better understand how we interact with you and the work we do behind the scenes.
Calvin May, Head of Technical and Certification, has fed back to me the brilliant discussions and insights he gained from the first manufacturer roundtable he hosted earlier this month. Engaging with industry like this not only helps us all better understand each other’s problems, but it also lets us look to the future through a sharper lens. Thank you to those who were able to attend – representatives from Windhager UK, Chesneys, Percy Doughty, Chilli Penguin Stoves, and Ironwood stoves all brought forward some excellent talking points and the team are busy to action these. We’ll be hosting further discussions like these with other stakeholders soon, so please get in touch if you’d like to attend or have any suggestions.
The Cleaner Choice scheme is continuing to grow, with Hamer Stoves getting both their stoves certified recently. With air quality at the forefront of many industry professionals’ minds, seeing more and more manufacturers committing to minimising their emissions and innovating is such positive progress. Find out more about Hamer Stoves, from Stove Industry Supplies, and look at their newly certified appliances on the Cleaner Choice search.
Some recent reports and research that may be of interest to you have received writeups on the HETAS website: the Climate Change Committee’s report on the UK’s climate change adaptation and a new research paper focusing on indoor air quality inequalities both have some interesting links to our sector and beyond.
With the new, updated Environmental Improvement Plan expected to be released this Summer, we will be sure to inform you of any relevant changes that could affect you. If you are able to make it, some of the HETAS team will be at our stand at InstallerSHOW again this year at stand 5I26, taking place 24-26 June at the NEC, Birmingham. Seeing prospective and existing registrants in-person is always valuable, so make sure to visit the HETAS stand if you are attending.
Login to the HETAS Technical Hub to access a range of resources including Technical Bulletins and to notify your installations, also read the latest news on the HETAS website.
