Independent Retailer Month is an annual event that runs throughout July to highlight the important role smaller, local, independent retailers play in the communities they serve, the local economy they contribute to, and in the retail sector as a whole.Independent traders are vital to our local communities and economies. Stats show that for every £1 spent with a local, independent business, between 50p-70p is reinvested into that local economy. Compared to shopping online or out-of-town, which although may save a little time or a little money, sees only 5p trickle back into the local economy.
