Could you offer an unemployed young person the opportunity to work through the Kickstart Scheme?
The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24-year-olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.
Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers:
- 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months
- associated employer National Insurance contributions
- employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
Employers will also receive a grant for setup costs.
Kickstart Jobs UK is a Kickstart Gateway working to help smaller employers who cannot apply to the government directly. Poujoulat UK is the European market leader for chimney flues and stacks and provides HETAS training courses.
They have come together to support businesses in the chimney and stove trade to access a full support package to help you take on a young person for 6 months and grow your business. Fully funded by the government, with free HETAS training provided by Poujoulat UK at their Guildford training centre.
There are two types of job placement available:
Retail Shop Assistant and/or Surveyor – to work in your shop and with customers.
Designer/Installer – to work in your design and installation team.
Find further details and the application form here. Kickstart Jobs UK will submit your application to the Department for Work & Pensions who will make the final decision on each application.
