2016 was our first full year using Golley Slater as our chosen PR agency and it’s been a very successful twelve months in raising awareness of HETAS,our registrants and the great products that manufacturers get tested and put in to our Guide. Our team has pulled together some of the headline coverage throughout 2016.
HETAS and Golley Slater continue to work hard to secure press coverage to raise awareness of HETAS and its registrants and 2016 was a very productive year.
Through our support of Chimney Fire Safety Week we secured some excellent coverage in print, online, TV and radio, both nationally and at a regional level. Figures identified that the campaign had reached a media audience of 28,775,820 in September. The key messaging during the campaign was to promote the use of HETAS Approved Chimney Sweeps and to use HETAS Registered Installers to achieve a safe and compliant installation.
Many of you will have also seen the repeat of Fake Britain which featured HETAS and can be viewed for a limited time on the BBC website (Episode 8, Series 6).
More recently, HETAS has been supporting Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week and again secured consumer coverage during the week.
Some of the consumer print titles that HETAS featured in during 2016 include: The Times, This is Money, Daily Star, Daily Mail, I Newspaper, Real Homes, Style at Home, What House, Your Home, Ideal Home, Grand Designs magazine.
Golley Slater recently ran a media meeting day to meet and engage with editors of consumer and lifestyle titles with the aim of promoting HETAS and securing coverage in these titles. Following these meetings, HETAS has secured a number of articles over the coming months.
The team would also like to thank our registrants who have made themselves available to speak to press and feature for HETAS, including Emily Skeet of Cinnabar Sweep, Katie Wiggins, also known as Katie Sweep, Ben Bowers of Ben Bowers Heating Solutions Ltd, Allister Marsh from The Centre for Green Energy Ltd and Ed Wilson from City Sweeps.
