Surefire and the National Association of Chimney Sweeps (NACS) are pleased to announce a new partnership to help improve the services for NACS Members and HETAS Installers. Surefire, part of Docherty Group has expanded its catchment area for engineers to be able to attend one of two HETAS Approved Training Centres – one in Stone, Staffordshire, the other in Ripley, Derbyshire. Surefire will provide tutors and assessors for all HETAS training, bringing consistency to both centres. The NACS centre is being upgraded to be able to offer the full suite of HETAS training courses.
The NACS actively promotes all HETAS courses to its Members and in particular the H003 course as a requirement to progress to the status of ‘Master Chimney Sweep’ with NACS, and as a prerequisite to becoming a HETAS Approved Chimney Sweep. NACS now has over two hundred HETAS Approved Sweeps, many of whom are also registered installers. HETAS Training Manager Mike Harvey comments:
“The partnership between the two organisations is great news and will undoubtedly prove successful. The additional training resources combined with experienced trainers with a wealth of industry knowledge will ensure training needs within the area are met. A very pleasing industry development.”
Mr. Cris Whitcombe, Training Manager at Surefire will be in charge of all HETAS training courses. He says:
“I am pleased about the partnership for all concerned and look forward to the challenges and triumphs that lay before us. We aim to offer the full suite of HETAS courses available and for more information visit our Surefire website.”
Martin P. Glynn President and CEO of the NACS adds:
“The new partnership demonstrates how the trade can assist each other in working together to raise standards for the industry and ultimately, protecting the consumer. This a positive step forward for both organisations.”
Mr. Dave Donald, NACS Head of Training, will continue to be in charge of all NACS training courses. Surefire Training Services is also an Associate Members of the NACS. The new partnership will commence on 1st July 2016. All HETAS course bookings will be taken by Surefire through a central telephone line and NACS members can continue to ring the NACS office and select HETAS training. Please be aware of a telephone number change for the NACS office from the 7th July 2016 to: 01785 336555. The existing number will be active for a short period following the changeover.
