HETAS have reviewed the Recoheat on the basis of testing undertaken by a notified laboratory. The system is designed to increase the heat distribution of a stove by volume of air heated, and the time it circulates heat for. It comprises an electric air pump connected to a heat recovery unit, placed in the flue of a solid fuel stove immediately above the stove collar, this exploits the turbulent boundary layer effect to capture and distribute heat from the flue gases without detrimental effect on the flue draught or temperature.
Temperature and airflow analysis shows an output of up to 1kw of heat when the external air temperature is around 0°C and an output temperature at the nozzle is 520°C (when tested on a 7kW output stove), as occurs on a kindling burn or wood with a maximum moisture content of 20% . The enhanced heat distribution produced by the system will last for as long as embers remain hot in the stove, as the cooling action passes heat past the exchange, giving many additional hours of heat distribution after normal convection from the stove surfaces has ceased.
When properly installed, operated and maintained the Recoheat will function as designed, however, please note, that due to the product placement that this may need a more regular cleaning or sweeping schedule.
